Hansa Devi grew up in Sweden before settling in Ridgeway, Colorado and is the creator of the stunning "No Mind Malas". A local artist and talented craftswomen, Hansa not only creates the most beautiful malas, she also makes beaded bracelets, takes beautiful pictures etc... Truly, she has an eye for beauty and also sense for other people's energies.
I have collected malas as souvenirs to remind me of special or scared places but the mala I received from Hansa is loaded with energy and I have not been able to take it off yet!
A Japa mala or mala (Sanskrit: माला; mālā, meaning garland) is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists. Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. This practice is known in Sanskrit as japa. Malas are typically made with 18, 27, 54 or 108 beads. [*Source: Wikipedia]
If you are like me and you feel like you need a little energetic support, Hansa will sit down with you in order to find out what support or energy you are looking for. She will then search for the suitable gemstones, sit with them, meditate with them and charge them with energy. The process takes a little while but I can only say that it was well worth the wait. My personal mala is the most beautiful gemstone necklace I have ever worn and to be absolutely honest - I have not taken it off yet.
Just like Hansa said, the beads are loaded with energy and wearing the mala feels good and soothing to me. I have kept them on during my mediation practice and they were lying next to me during my yoga practice and yes, I sleep with them.
