Of all the adventures we have planned for 2014, our Yoga Glamping Safari is probably the one I am most excited about. There are so many yoga retreats out there, but this particular adventure is truly unique, and I am 99% sure that each guest is going to have the time of their life. Not only have we teamed up with the best luxury camping outfitter in the west, Expedition Ops, but we will be traveling to some of the most remote, breathtaking areas of the desert southwest. More importantly, we have an incredible team of hosts that really elevate this experience to the next level.
Here at RE:treat, we are purveyors of the best yoga, fitness & wellness personalities in the west. We are firm believers in having a good time, and we don't think your yoga retreat experience should be any different. The quality of your experience relies heavily on the calibre of our crew. We pull together the most positive, adventurous, responsible & experienced team for your yoga retreat adventure.
For our 4WD Yoga Glamping Safari, scheduled to take place from September 20-28, 2014, we have put together a superstar team. We have the eternally positive Jeremy Womack of Expedition Ops, our blissed out resident yogi Naani Sheeva, RE:treat Founder & yoga support liaison Nicole Nugent and Fletcher Otwell, friend, camping expert & nature lover.
Let's meet your guides:
Jeremy Womack - founder of Expedition Ops
Finding the most beautiful happy hour location with only my closest friends has been an on going goal for years. From Mexican beaches to red rock canyons to forested mountains I've traveled extensively to experience what many others don't see. I refer to myself as a glamping specialist, "it's no fun to play in the backcountry if you don't sleep well", was the start of it all. I now own Expedition Ops a company focused on getting people out into the backcountry to make memories!
Nicole Nugent - Co Founder of RE:treat, Vinyasa Yogi & Fabulous Foodie
Nicole (Nuge) was glamping before glamping even existed. She would build elaborate forts in her backyard for sleepovers with her friends. Who needed to leaved the suburbs camp when camping could come to the suburbs? When Nuge finally left the 'burbs to live a simple life in the mountains, she began to explore the Four Corners on two wheels, setting up camp and cooking in some of the most spectacular and remote places in the desert Southwest. Recently, Nuge became a certified 200 RYT yoga teacher. Not only can she guide you through a power vinyasa, but cook from the soul alongside her outdoor kitchen idol Fletcher Otwell.
Naani Sheeva - Forrest Yoga Pioneer
Forrest Yoga instructor, Naani Sheva, spent the first eight years of her life living in the woods of the Adirondack Park, sans running water and in the small house her father built. For this humble upbringing she thanks her parents. A now Telluride resident, Naani has spent her seasons camping, biking, hiking and exploring the incredible wilds of the Southwest. Yoga, natural beauty and fun are at the core of Naani's regular soul-food. Needless to say, Glamping is a healthy serving.
Fletcher Otwell - Engineer by Day, Camping Guru of a Weekend. Happiest Guy In The World!
Fletcher grew up camping in the Southwest, and has made a very conscious decision to continue this lifestyle. Born in Prescott, AZ, his world expanded ever further from his back yard on the Western slope of Thumb Butte, through the Ponderosa Pines to many adventures outdoors. Family outings in the Telluride area every summer inspired a love of cooking over an open fire and waking to the bugle of a nearby elk. These days, the desire to sleep under the stars and absorb the natural beauty of the Southwest still burns passionately. "I could spend a lifetime in the bottom of the Grand Canyon so long as the sun shines every day and someone brought me good fresh coffee beans every now and then" says the eternal optimist who we call Fletch.
