As a member of the Cyclades Islands off the coast of Greece, Santorini is definitely one of the most stunning Greek islands. According to Frommer’s, the island is also known as “Thira” and today, Santorini is essentially what remains after an enormous volcanic eruption that destroyed the earliest settlements on a formerly single island, and created the current geological caldera. The island's principal port is Athinias and its capital, Fira, clings to the top of the cliff looking down on the lagoon.
If you are are anxious to see the clear blue waters of the Aegaen Sea, this is the easiest way for you to join us for our “Greek Goddess RE:treat”.
Traveling from abroad and/or Europe:
Choose a flight from the United States to any major city in Europe (London, Munich, Zurich, Frankfurt) as there are no direct flights to Santorini and connect from there to Santorini National Airport. If you are trying to save money, you can book your ticket from the US to the major hub in Europe and then continue your journey with a low-budget airline (see list below). When traveling from Europe, you will be able to book a direct flight to Santorini National Airport during peak travel season (April - early October).
Low budget airlines available during this period: Air Berlin, easyJet, Edelweiss Air, German Wings, Condor, Meridiana, ThomasCook, Jetairfly and Transavia. These airlines fly from cities that include Amsterdam, London, Brussels, Milan, Vienna, Düsseldorf, Munich, Zurich and Frankfurt.
Airport transfers to/from Santorini National Airport to your hotel are included in the price!
Your hotel - Relais & Chateaux Hotel Kirini Suites & Spa - lies nestled into the village of Oia and is one of the most stunning and luxurious hotels in Santorini. Once you have settled into your private suite, you will be able to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the Caldera Volcanic island, which gives this boutique hotel its special atmosphere. Kirini Suites & Spa Hotel combines the Cycladic architectural tradition with luxurious living and a serene scenery of the Aegean Sea.
Yoga & general well-being is a huge part of our events. We offer twice daily yoga classes during our “Greek Goddess RE:treat”.
The more invigorating morning practices start around 8 am and are taught by RE:treat’s Barbara Glanznig. She will guide you through a Vinyasa style yoga class suitable for all level practitioners. Whether beginner or more advanced yogi, Barbara will have you moving and breathing through the postures to get your blood flowing. Come prepared to explore your body and take new challenges, move through sun salutation sequences, standing balancing poses, arm balances, inversions, twists and gentle backbends, as well as hip openers and much more. As you build core strength and increase stamina, create heat within your body to facilitate the detoxification process while freeing your mind. Rise & Shine will help you create an opportunity to go inward and become present on a new level!
PM yoga classes will be more restorative and are optional.
One of the highlights of this retreat will be an evening on a Catamaran, where we will sail towards the setting sun, enjoying endless views and a good cocktail.
